We installed several new QR code markers in downtown Kent this morning, including:
Ray’s Place (former Thompson Drug and Central Hotel)
Link Block (now home of Empire)
Eighteen QR code markers for the stories created in fall 2011 are now ready for installation. The first ones will be put up at their respective locations onTuesday, January 10.

Our presentation entitled “Your Students Can Be Digital, Local Historians: The GeoHistorian Project” has been accepted for the 2012 ISTE Conference in San Diego. Here are the details:

Description: Learn about a project that teaches students how to create digital (hi)stories for audiences beyond their classrooms, accessible via QR codes at historical locations.
The GeoHistorian presentation from the 2011 NCSS Conference in Washington DC has now been added to the Publications and Presentations page.
The GeoHistorian Project is currently featured in the Winter 2011 issue of the Tree City Bulletin, which is distributed to all households in the City of Kent. Click on the image to read the story.
Due to the disappearance of the QR code marker at the Star of the West Mill, we installed a replacement late last week, this time behind glass
