About

Kent State University’s Research Center for Educational Technology was established in 1999 to support ongoing research examining teaching and learning in technology-rich classrooms centered around its unique Ameritech (AT&T) Classroom. Through rich collaborations with practitioners, RCET’s research activities explore how the use of digital technologies affects teaching and learning. RCET shares findings from its research with teachers, administrators, teacher educators and policy makers to help them best make use of, support and plan for educational technology in Ohio schools.

RCET’s mission:

To explore the uses and influences of technology in education through rich collaborations among researchers and practitioners, to help improve teaching and learning in today’s classrooms and inform the development of the ubiquitous computing environments of the future.
